AI Model Card Generator

Fill a structured form, watch the Markdown build in real time, download a model card ready to commit as MODEL-CARD.md in your repo.

A model card is a short structured document describing an AI model — training data, intended use, known biases, evaluation metrics, and limitations. Regulators (EU AI Act Annex IV, ISO 42001), buyers, and downstream teams increasingly ask for one before deployment. This generator produces the same six-section format used on Hugging Face and in the original Mitchell et al. paper.

This model card follows the structure proposed in "Model Cards for Model Reporting" (Mitchell et al., 2019) and is compatible with the Hugging Face model-card format.

Everything runs in your browser — no data leaves this page. The downloaded file is plain Markdown ready to commit to docs/MODEL-CARD.md.

Frequently asked questions

What is a model card?

A model card is a short structured document describing an AI model — what it is, what it was trained on, how it performs, and where it should and should not be used. Model cards were proposed by Mitchell et al. (Google, 2019) and are now standard on Hugging Face, in ISO 42001 evidence packs, and in EU AI Act technical documentation.

Which model card format does this generator produce?

The output follows the six-section structure proposed in the original Model Cards paper (details, intended use, training data, performance, ethical considerations, caveats). It is compatible with the Hugging Face model card template — you can drop the file directly into your repo as README.md or MODEL-CARD.md.

Does this replace an ISO 42001 or EU AI Act model registry?

No. A model card documents a single model. A model registry tracks every model, version, and dataset across your organization with the audit trail auditors ask for. Zilonex Govern is the registry — the model card generator is a companion tool for authoring one card at a time.

Is my input sent anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser. The Markdown is generated client-side and the download uses a local Blob — no data is posted to a server. You can verify this in the browser network tab.

Should I fill every field?

The more fields you fill, the more useful the card. At minimum, fill Model name, Primary use case, Training data, Metrics, and Limitations. Empty sections are omitted from the output, so the file stays clean.

Can I use this for foundation / GPAI models?

Yes. The same structure works for fine-tuned LLMs, foundation models, task-specific classifiers, and everything in between. GPAI providers can use the card as part of their Chapter V technical documentation.

How does this connect to Zilonex Govern?

Zilonex Govern lets you register the model, attach the card, link it to a risk register, and track ISO 42001 controls and EU AI Act classification against it. If you like this generator, the platform is the next step.
