Setting up GPS attendance for your team takes about 5 minutes end to end. Here is the complete step-by-step process.
Step 1: Sign up
Go to zilonex.com/register and create an account with your email. No credit card is required. Free forever for up to 10 employees.
Step 2: Add company details
Enter your business name, standard working hours, timezone, and workdays. This tells the system when to consider someone late or absent.
Step 3: Set up your first work location with a geofence
Open the admin dashboard, navigate to Settings > Locations, and click "Add Location". You will see a map. Drop a pin on your office, warehouse, site, or store. Set the geofence radius — 50 metres works for most offices, 100 metres for larger sites.
Step 4: Invite your team
Go to Employees > Invite. Enter names and emails, or share the join link via WhatsApp or SMS. Employees install the Zilonex mobile app and log in with the credentials they receive.
Step 5: Test the first clock-in
Have one team member (ideally you) open the app and try clocking in. The app will request location and camera permissions once, then verify your GPS position against the geofence and capture a selfie. If you are within the boundary, the clock-in succeeds and appears immediately on your admin dashboard.
Step 6: Roll out to your team
Once you have confirmed one clock-in works end to end, invite the rest of the team. Most employees will clock in successfully on their first try. Any issues are usually location permission (fix: enable location in phone settings) or being outside the geofence.
What to check on Day 1
- →All invited employees successfully installed the app
- →Each employee's first clock-in appears on the admin dashboard
- →Geofence radius is right — not too small (blocks legitimate clock-ins), not too large (allows off-site clock-ins)
- →Any late arrivals are correctly flagged based on your working hours settings
